Ranger Mods

Below are all of the mods that I have currently done to my Ford Ranger.

Custom Air Intake
Well yesterday me and my bud did the intake on my Ranger, and it was extremely easy to do and it costs 6$ + whatever filter you buy. So here's the list of what we did.
1. First we went to Pep Boys and bought the Intimidator 3' opening air filter for 25$ + tax.
2. We went to Home Depot and bought this rubber coupler (picture):
3. Took apart stock system and put one end of the rubber coupler into the stock intake tube and tightened it down with the hose clamp which was previously used to secure the stock intake box.
4. The right side end of the MAF fit right into the other end of the rubber coupler, and we again tightened everything with the silver hose clamp on the black rubber coupler.
5. The rubber thing that sticks out of the filter fits very tightly inside of the other end of the MAF. So in the end everything was connected, MAF hooked back up and it sounds great!!

Hope this helped and all of you guys who are looking for a really cheap way to get more air into your engine should do this. Unless someone out there can think of some way that this setup will not work and i need to change it. I still need ideas for brackets though.

P.S. We decided to reuse the stock intake tube because of the like 4 things that have to go into it, we figured it'd be a pain with the chrome or pvc one, so we just left it.

Other Mods
*Ported MAF= Previous owner did this, but I've
heard that it helps a lot. Will get pics soon.

*Super Turbo Muffler= Temporary until I get my
dual Flowmaster 40-series. Actually sound really good.

*Home Depot Grill=Looks okay, temporary also until I get my Billet grill.

Sony Explod Head Unit=Despite what everyone seems
to think about Sony, I love this cd player, it never skips, only cost about installed, and sounds great.
